Police say AI images involving ICE agents in Las Vegas circulating on social media

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — On the same day that some students in schools around the valley are protesting ICE activities, Las Vegas Metropolitan police say some of the images on social media showing ICE officers are AI-generated.

According to a post on LVMPD’s X account, Metro, which says it’s monitoring the local student protests, said “there are several videos circulating on social media showing Department of Homeland Security officers conducting enforcement operations in our community.”

The Metro post also said that among those videos are AI-generated images. The police also added that LVMPD does not participate in proactive immigration enforcement activities.
