Las Vegas Police Renew Appeal for Clues in 1983 Cold Case Murder of Fred Robert Sims

Today marks the somber anniversary of a mystery that has gone unsolved for over four decades. On January 21, 1983, Fred Robert Sims, a 49-year-old husband and father, vanished after having dinner with his wife at a restaurant on Boulder Highway. The grim conclusion to his disappearance came when his wife discovered his body near Harmon and Sheppard Drive, where he had been shot multiple times. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department took to social media to remind the public that despite the passage of time, the quest for justice endures.

The LVMPD shared a composite sketch of the suspected perpetrator, accentuating that even after 43 years, the identity of the suspect remains a mystery. In their post, LVMPD stated, “Someone knows who did this.
