Parents react to Nevada ranking top 5 worst states for families

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A new study deemed Nevada as one of the worst five states to raise a family. WalletHub surveyed various factors, ranging from affordability to education, and ranked Nevada 47th.

Nevada held low scores across the board. The state did not rank any higher than 48 in the categories of Health and Safety (#48), Education/Childcare (#49), affordability (#49), and socioeconomics (#50).

“Vegas is a playground for adults, but a sandbox for children,” said father Jason You. “What I love about Vegas is that there is a sense of community. You can go out, your neighbors say hi to you. But at the same time, my worry was the school system.”
