Weekend solidarity protests for Minnesota held in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) —  Protests in Las Vegas are planned throughout the weekend in solidarity with Minnesota. One was held along Charleston Boulevard in the Boca Park area of Summerlin on January 24th. The protest was announced days prior by the organization “Indivisible Las Vegas,” but the protest took on new meaning after the shooting death of Alex Pretti in Minnesota early Saturday morning.

An estimated 70-100 people attended Saturday’s rally near Boca Park.

“Renee Good getting shot and then several more people have been shot. It’s our First Amendment right and they’re just stripping it away from us,” said Lori Ford, a woman who spoke with 8 News Now during Saturday morning’s protest…
