LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Mickey Mouse and Henderson leaders celebrated the opening of the Galleria Mall at a 1996 extravaganza, and exactly 30 years later the shopping center will be marking the anniversary with a new name.
Branding around Galleria Mall has been to “Mershops Galleria at Sunset” changing since last year when owners, Mershops, announced the full-scale transformation last year. Many workers told 8 News Now they were pleasantly surprised by the name change, but did not realize it had been undergoing for a year.
“I was surprised,” Erma Henderson, a mall worker, said. “The Galleria is about to celebrate 30 years here and I think that’s good news.”…
