Las Vegas man ‘lost control of his emotions,’ allegedly stabbed girlfriend after she accused him of cheating: police

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Las Vegas man faces a charge of open murder after he allegedly stabbed his girlfriend to death following an argument where she accused him of cheating, documents 8 News Now obtained Wednesday show.

On Friday, Jan. 23, at around 1 p.m., the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department received a call for service in the 1800 block of Canosa Avenue. The person calling said there was a woman who was stabbed at a residence, according to an arrest report.

Arriving officers found a woman, later identified as Yaimara Leyva-Cadet, lying inside the living room of the residence with multiple stab wounds to her face and back, the report said.

Medical personnel took Leyva-Cadet to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead…
