LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A crash on the southbound I-15, north of Las Vegas, spilled thousands of pounds of potatoes onto the freeway Friday morning.
The crash was reported just after 5:30 a.m. and involved two semi tractor-trailer trucks and a passenger vehicle. One person was transported with minor injuries for medical treatment, according to Shawn Haggstrom with the Nevada State Police.
One of the tractor-trailers developed a breach and spilled 76,000 pounds of spuds onto the roadway just south of Mesquite, which is about 100 miles north of Las Vegas. Cleanup crews arrived at the scene to remove the potatoes from the roadway.
