Henderson parents call for more enforcement against bus stop-runners on busy street

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Parents in Henderson are calling for increased safety measures at a school bus stop near Eastern Avenue and West Horizon Ridge Parkway, saying distracted drivers are putting children at risk during daily drop-offs and pick-ups.

Amanda, who asked not to use her last name, shared cellphone videos showing cars driving past her daughter’s stopped school bus, ignoring the activated stop sign and flashing lights. She and her husband, Tony, say the issue has been going on for years.
