LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — An elderly Las Vegas Valley woman was terrorized for months by someone who spray painted her home, through rocks through the windows and ultimately set fire to her home. All the incidents were captured on home surveillance video.
A suspect was on the loose, until neighbors intervened and helped capture a suspect. The suspect, identified as Russell McLaren, faces multiple charges including first-degree arson, aggravated stalking, destruction of property and assault with a deadly weapon. His bond was set at $100,000.
Family and friends say the incidents began last summer with someone shooting the woman’s windows, breaking the glass. Yellow BB-like pellets were found on the ground outside the residence.
Fire set at home in January
On Jan. 3, surveillance video captured a person throwing liquid around the property and igniting it, causing flames to spread toward the house. The elderly woman inside was alerted by a smoke detector and went outside to extinguish the fire with water, according to the woman’s daughter…
