Las Vegas teen driver accused of killing boy, 10, accepts plea deal for sentencing

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A 17-year-old accused of being impaired and causing a crash that killed a 10-year-old passenger in another vehicle has accepted a plea deal that will put him in prison for three to 15 years, according to court documents.

Henry Norberto was 16 when he killed Brandon Martinez in a wrong-way crash on I-15 on June 29, 2025. Norberto’s vehicle struck the other vehicle, killing the boy.

Norberto, who police said was impaired and didn’t have a license, was charged as an adult.

According to the plea agreement filed on Monday, Norberto pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle while under the influence, resulting in death or substantial bodily harm. Initially, he faced several charges, including reckless driving, possession of marijuana, driving without a license, and no proof of insurance. Those charges were dismissed as part of the plea agreement.

The agreement also states that Norberto would face additional charges and prison time if he reoffends after serving his sentence. He will also be required to have a breath ignition interlock device on his vehicle for at least one year upon his release…
