LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Some drivers are traveling nearly 30 miles per hour over the posted speed limit in a construction zone on the 215, putting workers at risk as they complete road work.
FOX5 used a radar gun to capture multiple vehicles exceeding the 55 mph speed limit around Stephanie on the 215. The road drops from 65 mph to 55 between Stephanie and Pecos due to ongoing construction work.
Speeders clocked at dangerous speeds
Within minutes of setting up near Stephanie, FOX5 spotted drivers traveling 68, 69 and 70 mph in the construction zone. This was observed by a speed sign along the highway.
With a radar gun, FOX5 saw several cars going 70 to over 80 miles per hour. One car was traveling 82 and another 83 mph.
