Analysis: Former police lieutenant reacts to officers’ response in deadly shooting

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Newly released body camera footage is revealing what led up to a deadly police shooting involving Metro officers that left a 28-year-old man and a 3-year-old child dead.

Police identified the man as Quinton Baker and the child as Kentre. According to investigators, officers were called to the scene after a woman, later identified as Raneka Pate, reported that Baker had a gun and threatened to kill her and the child if police approached.

Body camera video shows officers ordering Baker to stop as he moved toward them while holding the child and pointing a gun at the boy’s chest. Moments later, gunshots were fired…
