LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Nevada Secretary of State’s Office canceled nearly 177,000 voter registrations during regular maintenance last year, according to a news release.
County clerks in Nevada administer elections, but a modernized election system allows the state to control top-down voter registration. The state system allows voters to update their address, cancel their registration and opt in or out of receiving a mail-in ballot, among other tasks.
Between Jan. 1, 2025, and Jan. 7, 2026, Nevada’s 17 counties inactivated 138,367 voters and canceled 176,928 registrations, the office said.
