LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The City of Las Vegas planned to build a $40 million pedestrian bridge at the intersection of Sahara Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard in 2024, and two years later, crews have yet to break ground on it.
The circular bridge would connect all corners of the intersection, getting rid of the need for people to walk across streets that see tens of thousands of cars daily.

At a Feb. 2 meeting, the Las Vegas City Council extended the deadline to build the bridge to 2030.
“Like all capital improvement projects, this can only move forward if and when funding is available,” a spokesperson for the city said. “With the escalating costs of construction, the potential timeline for this project moved back.”
