Las Vegas City Hall kicked off Women’s History Month with a milestone of its own. For the first time, the seven-member City Council is led by six women, a lineup that includes Mayor Shelley Berkley. The 6-to-1 majority now guides decisions on downtown priorities, infrastructure projects and day-to-day city services.
City officials shared the news Monday on the city’s official X account, calling the council a “historic 6-woman majority” and using the announcement to remind residents about upcoming meetings. In its post on City of Las Vegas on X, the city linked the moment to Women’s History Month while flagging when the public can tune in.
