Las Vegas police seek answers in 1983 murder of Karen McLaughlin

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — On October 18, 1983, inside an apartment near Twain Avenue and Cambridge Street, the life of 31-year-old Karen Hobbs McLaughlin was taken.According to Metro police, Karen was found dead in her bedroom by her roommate.The Clark County Coroner’s Office determined she had been strangled and sufferedblunt force trauma to her head.

Police say there were no signs of forced entry into the apartment. Nothing appearedstolen. Nothing else was disturbed.Detectives believe the person responsible was someone Karen knew, someone shetrusted enough to let inside.
