LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — James “Bo” Gritz, a retired U.S. Army veteran who claimed to have inspired the character of John Rambo, died on Friday, according to a social media post from his wife. He was 87.
Gritz lived in Sandy Valley, a small community near the California state line about 35 miles west of Las Vegas. No cause of death was given.
