LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Sources close to 8 News Now confirmed that a suspect was arrested in connection with a shooting that left a woman and toddler dead in a south Las Vegas neighborhood Monday night.
Sources did not identify the suspect’s name or age, but describe him as a man with no apparent connection to the victims.

Sources said before shooting the woman and toddler, the suspect tried to steal the car they were sitting in on Monday night, along the 1100 block of Victoria Medici Street, near Starr Avenue and Dean Martin Drive.

He was then arrested by the Utah Highway Patrol at some point on Tuesday night after he allegedly stole a vehicle in Phoenix, Arizona. It is unclear at this time where the suspect was spotted in Utah, according to 8 News Now sources.
Attorney Dominic Gentile, who is representing the family of Danaija Robinson, identified her as the woman killed in Monday night’s shooting.
