Predawn Beltway Horror One Killed as Crash Shuts I-215 at Ann Road

A deadly early morning crash on the I-215 beltway in northwest Las Vegas shut down traffic Wednesday and left at least one person dead, with Nevada State Police troopers swarming the scene as the western beltway near Ann Road was shut while crews cleared the wreckage.

According to FOX5, the Regional Transportation Commission reported the collision around 6:10 a.m. on southbound I-215 at Ann Road, and all lanes in the area were blocked. FOX5 also noted that it had reached out to Nevada State Police for additional details as the investigation unfolded.

What Authorities Are Investigating

Nevada State Police have not yet released information about the person who died or what led to the crash, and troopers asked drivers to steer clear of the area while they processed the scene. A separate local TV report on an I-215 crash in the northwest valley said troopers described a driver being taken to University Medical Center and later pronounced dead, and added that the Clark County coroner releases names only after notifying next of kin. Traffic officials and FOX5 urged commuters to avoid the stretch of I-215 while investigators and cleanup crews worked the scene, warning that nearby surface streets were likely to see heavy backups.
