A Henderson man says a night out at a Golden Corral buffet turned into a violent brawl when employees accused him and his companions of stealing food, then allegedly attacked him with a fork. The lawsuit, filed March 5 in Clark County District Court, claims the February 2, 2025 confrontation left him with a traumatic brain injury and multiple stab wounds and names the restaurant, several corporate entities and individual staff members as defendants.
What the complaint says
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the complaint identifies the plaintiff as 59-year-old Gary Sellinger and names employees Michael Strang and Jamie Crafts and manager Amy Bearden, along with franchise and corporate entities BLH LLC, BB Hospitality LLC, Heinz Enterprises LLC, NV GG LLC and Golden Corral Corp.
The suit alleges that the clash began after staff accused Sellinger and his group of stealing food. It claims Strang grabbed Sellinger by the neck and slammed him into a table, and that staff then stabbed him with a fork and pummeled, hit and kicked him.
Traumatic brain injury and recovery
The complaint says Sellinger suffered a traumatic brain injury, along with scratches and multiple stab wounds. Traumatic brain injuries can have long-lasting effects and often require months of rehabilitation, and older adults are especially vulnerable to complications and prolonged recovery. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention notes that TBIs can cause lasting physical, cognitive and emotional problems and that hospitalizations and deaths are most common among older adults.
Police response and damages sought
The complaint states that Henderson police were called to the restaurant at 6:08 p.m. on February 2, 2025, but that an email from the department indicated no report was filed.
The lawsuit seeks general, special and punitive damages, each in excess of $15,000, plus attorney costs and fees. It alleges that hospital photos and witness accounts back the claim that Sellinger was stabbed multiple times with a fork, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal…
