It’s no secret that the cost of living is expensive in Nevada’s cities. Despite strong economic growth, Reno households continue to feel financial pressure from high housing costs and inflation.
That could make moving to the suburbs (or in Nevada’s case most times, a small town within commuting distance from its cities) all that more appealing. And more people may have the chance to live in areas outside of Reno like Fernley, Gold Valley and Sun Valley as more than 450 homes and townhomes are expected to come into the area with funding from a state housing bill passed during last year’s legislative session. Las Vegas and Reno are expected to get more housing with this bill as well.
