HENDERSON (FOX5) — The City of Henderson’s Animal Protection Services has successfully defended the seizure of multiple animals in its first-ever “return of animals” hearing since joining the Department of Community Development and Services.
The case stemmed from a January response to a Henderson residence, where Animal Protection Services, working alongside the Office of Public Response and the Henderson Police Department, found several animals living in poor conditions inside a garage.
Seven animals were seized from the property and provided with medical care. All are now reported to be healthy.
During the recent hearing, the suspect voluntarily relinquished two dogs and two cats to the City, according to officials. The judge further determined that the suspect was not fit or able to care for the remaining three American Eskimo dogs, allowing Animal Protection Services to maintain custody…
