Las Vegas Civic Center Gallery opens “Rhythm and Resilience: Black Vegas”

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A new exhibit opened Thursday at the Las Vegas Civic Center Gallery, taking visitors through decades of African American history in the city, from its earliest Black settler to the cultural and civil rights milestones of the 1980s.

“Rhythm and Resilience: Black Vegas” features photographs, artwork, artifacts, and objects. The exhibit is curated by Carmen Beals and narrated by historian Claytee White, with Ward 5 Councilwoman Shondra Summers-Armstrong also involved in the presentation.
