Public health officials report case of measles in Las Vegas

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – The Southern Nevada Health District and the Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health (NDPBH) confirmed a measles case in a visitor to Clark County. The person attended ConExpo in Las Vegas on March 6 and 7 and spent time in the area on March 8. They were infectious during this time.

People who attended the convention center or had contact with the infected person should review their immunization status and contact their healthcare providers if they’re not fully vaccinated or have never had measles.

Measles is highly contagious. Up to 90% of unvaccinated people may get infected if exposed to the virus. The measles virus can linger in the air for up to two hours after an infected person leaves…
