Las Vegas warehouse workers claim AI replaced them

AS VEGAS (KLAS) – Warehouse workers in Las Vegas told 8 News Now they were suddenly laid off, and their company is replacing them with AI robots.

The reported layoffs happened on Sunday, March 8, at Southern Glazer, according to the workers. The major beverage distributor has locations across the U.S. and Canada, including a location in Las Vegas.

“Us in the warehouse, we all pretty much were doing the same things, picking the products off of the shelves, and building pallets that were meant to go to the stores,” said a man who claimed to be one of those laid off and wanted to remain anonymous. He said those day-to-day tasks are now being handled by machines, which he saw up close before being let go.

“I just saw that it created more work,” another man said, who wanted to remain anonymous, but also claims he was one of those laid off.

He continued, “What’s going to happen once one of these cases breaks, and it spills all of this alcohol all over these electronic systems?”

Both said their team consisted of more than 100 warehouse workers, with around 50 of them let go. However, they claim their drivers were safe from the layoffs…
