Las Vegas man pleads not guilty in stabbing death, waives right to speedy trial

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A man accused of killing a pedestrian during what police described as an erratic spree in downtown Las Vegas has pleaded not guilty and waived his right to a speedy trial.

Kenwonn Montgomery, 46, faces several charges, including murder and assault. Police said Montgomery swung a knife at his mother before chasing his brother with it, then stabbed 53-year-old Joseph Kirkling to death as Kirkling walked nearby. The incident was caught on camera…
