LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Temperatures today have been a few degrees cooler thanks to mid to high-level cloud cover as an upper-level disturbance pushes through. It’s still pretty warm, though, with highs still ranging 20+ degrees hotter this mid-March. This ridge has remained pretty stagnant, trapping a lot of heat not just during the day, but also in the evening. So overnight lows continue to stay warm and near record-breaking territory. Our Extreme Heat warning is expected to expire this Sunday at 8 pm.
As we move through next week, there doesn’t seem to be a ton of changes as far as the heat. We’ll still see highs at 90 degrees through next weekend, although we dip in the low 90’s by Thursday afternoon as this ridge starts to slide a bit to the east.

Expect daily records to be broken, which we’ve already seen these past 4 days and that trend continues for another 5-7 days. We’ll remain in a minor to moderate heat risk for our forecast region, meaning those without the proper cooling or hydration can fall susceptible to heat-related illnesses.
According to the NWS Las Vegas, with these 90’s sticking around, this makes 2026 currently tied with 2004 for most days in March with highs at or above 90 degrees in Las Vegas. So if the forecast sticks, starting from last Wednesday, there will be 10 days with highs at or above 90 degrees in Las Vegas by Friday, putting March 2026 in first place by far…
