Clark County to settle Robert Telles employee lawsuit for $375K

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Clark County Board of Commissioners is expected to settle a lawsuit from three women who worked under disgraced public administrator Robert Telles for nearly $400,000, according to documents.

Telles, 49, the former Clark County public administrator, killed Las Vegas Review-Journal investigative reporter Jeff German, 69, in 2022 after German wrote unflattering stories about Telles and the office he ran. The Clark County Public Administrator’s Office administers the estates of the deceased while a search is conducted to find a family member or executor.

A jury found Telles guilty in 2024. The panel, along with a judge, sentenced him to a minimum of 28 years in prison. Evidence at trial included the fact that police found Telles’ DNA under German’s fingernails.

Four of Telles’ former employees later filed a federal complaint, claiming Telles created a hostile work environment before his arrest and later removal from his elected position.

County commissioners were expected to approve a $375,000 settlement on Tuesday involving three employees. Last year, the county offered a $100,000 settlement. The group learned of the then-offer through the 8 News Now Investigators’ reporting, calling it “disrespectful.”…
