Las Vegas pet cremation business owner to avoid jail in fake remains fraud

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The owner of a pet cremation business who gave customers fake remains — and where some animals in their care ended up dumped more than 100 miles away — will plead guilty and could receive probation.

Richard “Rick” Senniger will plead guilty to a felony theft charge and pay nearly $11,000 in restitution, his attorney, Robert Draskovich, told a Las Vegas Justice Court judge Thursday. If Senniger pays the restitution before sentencing, prosecutors will not oppose probation.

The Nevada Attorney General’s Office initially charged Senniger with several counts of fraud, saying that in 2023, he “knowingly and with the intent to defraud” provided at least 16 customers with fake pet remains, documents said…
