Judge approves new murder charge theory in Lesly Palacio case

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A judge has approved prosecutors’ request to update the indictment against Erick Rangel-Ibarra in Lesly Palacio’s murder case, adding an alternative first-degree murder theory.

In its motion, the state asked for permission to file an amended indictment alleging felony murder, which argues that the killing was committed while carrying out or attempting to carry out a sexual assault.
