LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The summer mandatory watering schedule is set to go into effect for the Las Vegas valley this week.
The Southern Nevada Water Authority wants to remind residents and businesses to switch to the summer schedule starting on Friday, May 1. The schedule will stay in effect until Aug. 31.

SNWA said sprinkler irrigation is prohibited between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. during the summer months. This is because water loss caused by intense heat and high winds is the highest during these months.
Watering on Sundays is also prohibited during the summer months…
