Eighth inning burst propels Miami Hurricanes past Troy Trojans

Miami, Florida – The five-run surge was just what the Miami Hurricanes needed to beat the Troy Trojans 10-5 in their first game of the Gainesville Regional. Jake Ogden and Max Galvin kicked off the big inning with back-to-back one-out doubles. After Derek Williams and Alex Sosa walked, Alonzo Alvarez produced an RBI single, making it 7-5 Canes. Dylan Dubovik drove in the next run via a sacrifice fly, with Brandon DeGoti delivering the final blow, smacking a two-run double. UM reliever Lyndon Glidewell finished off the Trojans in the ninth, pitching two innings of relief to help Miami advance to the winner’s bracket against the Florida Gators, who outlasted Rider 8-7 in the afternoon game.
