Hialeah mayor closes city’s public pools, claims $5M needed after years of neglect

HIALEAH, Fla. — The mayor of Hialeah announced on Tuesday that he was temporarily closing the city’s public pools and keeping a water park closed.

Mayor Bryan Calvo said he wants an expert to conduct a “comprehensive, independent review” of the facilities’ conditions and the city’s aquatics operations.
