A South Florida bride-to-be says her wedding shoes and earrings were stolen right off her apartment building’s delivery area, just weeks before she’s set to walk down the aisle. Edianys Santoyo says the packages disappeared from a residential building near Bird Road and Southwest 37th Avenue in Miami, and surveillance footage appears to show the same woman returning to steal from the property more than once.
Santoyo says she ordered the wedding items four or five months ago, only to find them missing with her wedding now less than a month away, according to CBS News. When she contacted Amazon about the missing packages, the company confirmed the orders had already been delivered, leaving her to figure out what happened on her own. Building management pulled surveillance footage from the dates the packages vanished and found a woman arriving in a white pickup truck and approaching the designated delivery area, per the same report.
Footage Shows a Pattern Stretching Back Months
Santoyo identified one of the packages in that footage as the one containing her wedding shoes. She also shared separate surveillance video from roughly three months earlier showing a dark-haired woman allegedly taking packages from the same spot, the station reports. Santoyo reported both incidents to police, who believe, per her account, that the same woman and pickup truck were involved both times.
According to Santoyo, the woman is also suspected of similar package thefts at other locations. Police have struggled to identify the truck’s license plate, and Santoyo says the woman appears to park strategically so cameras can’t catch the plate number. A Red Stag page published in 2025 says package theft nationally carries an arrest rate of only about 3% and a conviction rate of just 0.3%, according to Red Stag Fulfillment.
Neighbors Say It’s a Recurring Problem
Building manager Anise Guy acknowledged that package theft has been a recurring problem at the property, the outlet’s report notes.
