In an eclectic display of cross-functional teamwork, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue’s Engine 57 temporarily swapped out fires for fauna at Zoo Miami this past Tuesday. Tasked with the mission to alleviate heat stress for some of the zoo’s heaviest residents, the fire crew provided a much-needed respite for the elephants amidst Florida’s sweltering summer temps. According to WSVN, this collaboration has emerged as a yearly ritual, bringing the community together to witness these gentle giants getting hosed down in their Asian Elephant habitat.
