Hollywood Beach restaurant targeted by arsonist for second time

Arsonist targets Broadwalk Restaurant on Hollywood Beach for second time 02:02

HOLLYWOOD – For a second time in as many months, a man has lobbed a Molotov cocktail at the iconic Broadwalk Restaurant on Hollywood Beach.

Surveillance video shows a man in a red car throwing a potentially dangerous firebomb at the back of the restaurant, at 1400 N Surf Road, early Tuesday morning. Fortunately, there was limited damage.

Restaurant manager Denis Almeida said he couldn’t believe it happened again .

“It looks like the same guy who came two months ago, a month and a half months ago, the same car. In the footage, it looks like the same person. He stopped in front of us again, in front of our parking lot. We don’t have a problem with anybody here, our neighbors, our former employees, we haven’t had any problems with them in the last year,” he said. “I have no clue who it could be. It’s happening to us right and it could happen to someone else.”

The attack was similar to the one on June 24th when a man in a red car was caught on camera hurling a Molotov cocktail at the back of the restaurant and then driving away.
