Miami-Dade voters will elect a sheriff for the first time in almost 6 decades. Here are the candidates

For the first time in nearly 60 years, Miami-Dade County voters will have the chance this November to elect the county’s first sheriff since 1966. It’s a move the Florida Sheriff’s Association applauded. According to its president, Sheriff Bill Prummell of Charlotte County, electing a sheriff puts the power back in the hands of voters.
