Tyreek Hill, #10 of the Miami Dolphins, looks on prior to a preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons at Hard Rock Stadium on Aug. 9 in Miami Gardens, Florida.

Tyreek Hill, a wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins, was detained by police on  Sunday on his way to Hard Rock Stadium to play the Jacksonville Jaguars.

He was detained for a driving violation, his agent Drew Rosenhaus told reporters, according to Sports Illustrated .

Rosenhaus said Hill still plans to play in Sunday’s season opener.

“This morning, WR Tyreek Hill was pulled over for a traffic incident about one block from the stadium and briefly detained by police,” the Miami Dolphins wrote on social media . “He has since been released. Several teammates saw the incident and stopped to offer support. Tyreek and all other players involved have safely arrived to the stadium and will be available for today’s game.”

Rosenhaus said the detention was “completely unnecessary” and that he was “very distraught about it.” An eyewitness video shows Hill on the ground.
