FAA issues ground stoppages at multiple Florida airports due to debris from SpaceX Starship explosion

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Multiple Florida airports experienced full ground stoppages due to falling debris from SpaceX’s Starship, which exploded during an unmanned test flight Thursday evening.

The FAA said Orlando International Airport, Palm Beach International Airport, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Miami International Airport were under ground stoppages until 8 p.m. ET due to space launch debris.

All inbound flights to these airports were held at their point of origin until the ground stoppage lifted, according to the flight data website FlightAware…
