‘National Geographic moment’: Alligator captured on camera eating offspring on Mother’s Day

MIAMI, Fla. (WFLA) — An alligator was seen in the Florida Everglades eating what is believed to be its offspring on Mother’s Day in a “National Geographic moment.”

A group of people taking a tour at the Shark Valley Everglades National Park on May 11 experienced an adult alligator chomping on a baby alligator while three other young alligators watched nearby.

“Well, that’s unfortunate,” the tour guide can be heard saying in the background.
