Mass Casualty Incident in Southwest Miami-Dade, Five Children Among Injured in Severe Two-Vehicle Collision

Tragedy struck in southwest Miami-Dade yesterday evening as two vehicles collided, resulting in multiple injuries, including those of five children. According to Local 10, the incident occurred around 6:47 p.m. near Southwest 286th Street and 142nd Avenue. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue deemed the situation a “Mass Casualty Incident.”

MDFR reported that their units responded in force, with 19 teams arriving on the scene. The first responders encountered a harrowing scene, with at least one person requiring extrication from their mangled vehicle. Three adults and even more children were among those injured in the devastating crash. The rescued occupants, the three adults and the five children, were promptly whisked away to local hospitals and trauma centers, although the full extent of their injuries remains undisclosed.
