Man accused of shooting victim during confrontation near Miami River

MIAMI — A 21-year-old man is facing attempted murder and weapons charges after police say he opened fire on another man during a confrontation near the Miami River earlier this year.

Jail records obtained by Local 10 News on Friday show Yosnier Santiago Nicols is facing one count each of second-degree attempted murder with a deadly weapon, illegal use of a firearm while committing a felony, and unlawful discharge of a firearm in a public place.

On May 31, officers with the Miami Police Department responded to a gas station on Northwest 27th Avenue, where the victim told police he had just been shot at just after 6:30 a.m…
