Miami-Dade Tax Collector Dariel Fernández Joins Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz at Operation “Credit Bust Out” Announcement Uncovering Organized Crime in Vehicle Transactions

Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernández joined Miami-Dade County Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz today to announce the results of Operation “Credit Bust Out” during a joint press conference held in the City of Doral. This multi-agency operation led to the arrest of more than 20 individuals tied to fraudulent vehicle purchases at dealerships across South Florida.

“Trust is the foundation of public service. When a resident comes to us for help, they deserve honesty and respect. That is why we will never tolerate fraud, corruption, or schemes,” said Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernández. “I want to thank Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz and her team for their leadership and partnership. Working together, we send a clear message: public trust will be protected, and wrongdoing has no place in our County.”

Sheriff Cordero-Stutz explained that the months-long investigation uncovered a sophisticated criminal network engaged in identity theft, falsified documents, and misrepresentation. The scheme defrauded banks and dealerships, including luxury car outlets, with many of the stolen vehicles later sold to unsuspecting victims or shipped overseas.
