Students, school officials, and community leaders gathered Friday at Dr. Frederica S. Wilson/Skyway Elementary School for the groundbreaking of a $34.1 million project that will replace the current campus with the district’s first Net-Zero Energy School.
A Net-Zero building is a structure that produces as much energy as it consumes annually by combining energy-efficient design, renewable energy sources, and smart energy management.
