Man claims to be ‘Jesus Christ King’ in bond court after being accused of grabbing North Miami police officer’s gun

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. — A 38-year-old man appeared in bond court Wednesday morning, two days after he was arrested for allegedly grabbing a police officer’s gun in North Miami, and claimed that the court had “zero jurisdiction” over him because he is “Jesus Christ King.”

According to an arrest report, Devon Lane, who is currently living on the streets of Miami, was spotted shortly before 4 p.m. Monday in the area of Northwest Seventh Avenue and 131st Street in North Miami, wearing a hospital gown and screaming at passing vehicles.

Police said responding officers saw Lane walking in the roadway, yelling “Jesus loves you.”

According to the report, an officer was in his marked patrol car when he gave “loud verbal commands” to Lane to get out of the roadway…
