A Cooper City man was killed Sunday evening when his BMW crossed into oncoming traffic on Griffin Road and collided with another vehicle, shutting down a busy stretch of the eastbound lanes, according to authorities.
The crash happened around 6:20 p.m. on June 21 in the 8700 block of Griffin Road near Southwest 87th Avenue in Cooper City, Broward County. Deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue crews responded and closed the eastbound lanes while they worked the scene and cleared wreckage and debris, Local 10 reported. At least one person was taken to a hospital for treatment, the station added.
BSO Traffic Homicide detectives told Boca Post that Arie Levy was driving a 2016 BMW 750 westbound on Griffin Road when he “failed to maintain control” of the car.
