A Broward County judge has rejected a self-defense claim from a Florida man charged with fatally shooting a real estate agent whom he allegedly mistook for his landlord.
Raymond Reese, 56, faces a first-degree murder charge in the death of 40-year-old Sara Michelle Trost. Reese sought immunity from prosecution under Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” law, but Broward County Circuit Judge Lorena Mastrarrigo denied the request following a court hearing, allowing the case to move forward to trial.
