HALLANDALE BEACH, FL — Police in South Florida are investigating a case that began with a night out at a club and ended with a missing Rolex valued at $98,400. A Hallandale Beach man told investigators he met a woman, later brought her to his home, and then felt suddenly “funny” and extremely tired before falling asleep.
When he woke up hours later, he said the watch was gone. Investigators have now identified the woman as 32-year-old Lynda Mae Crouse, who was arrested on an outstanding Broward County warrant and charged with second-degree grand theft.
How police say the Hallandale Beach encounter unfolded
According to a probable cause affidavit, the man met Crouse at the Carousel Club shortly after midnight on April 12. Police said the two exchanged Instagram information before going their separate ways.
Less than two hours later, the man ordered an Uber to pick her up from her home and bring her to his residence. Once there, the pair drank several alcoholic beverages in his living room, police said. The man later told officers he went to change clothes and suddenly began feeling off…
