Broward School Board To Okay SRO Contract With City Of Pembroke Pines

The Broward School Board expected to green light the School Resource Officer agreement with the city of Pembroke Pines. Commissioner Mike Hernandez says the pact ensures SRO’s will remain in every elementary, middle and high school for the next two academic years. The district will pay 113-thousand-dollars per officer, but Pembroke Pines says the cost exceeds 2 million. Post Parkland, the state requires the school board to have an armed safety officer at every school.
