Teen, 17, arrested in Fort Lauderdale hit-and-run that damaged Tesla, Cybertruck

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A 17-year-old boy is facing multiple charges after police say he crashed an SUV into a Fort Lauderdale homeowner’s yard over the weekend, causing thousands of dollars in property damage before fleeing the scene.

Fort Lauderdale police confirmed the arrest of Gilton Alexander Arevalo Juarez, who is now facing four charges, including:

  • Driving without a license
  • Leaving the scene of a crash involving property damage
  • Leaving the scene of a crash involving injuries (a felony)
  • Running a stop sign

Police said Arevalo Juarez will be placed on home detention for 21 days, with no contact allowed between him and the victims, witnesses or co-defendants.
